Why do teachers give so much work knowing that CNY is for visiting and not rotting at home?

That is what I call racial insensitivity as I told Jeryl. But sadly, it can't really be used here in SG unlike in Adelaide, cos teachers are Chinese themselves, and we are the majority.
I hate homework.

God, why do I procrastinate so much?

To watch the dandelions fly
Monday, February 15, 2010 @ 5:59 PM

I got a really really big temptation to fly away to somewhere, Idk where and Idc where, after my 'A's.
Like a Great Escape from 12 years of educational hell for real. With loved ones, for sure. Not my family. I've been overseas with them lots and it's boring to the core. The generation gap's the culprit I suppose. So maybe my girlfriends, no parents. And maybe some 'bodyguards' hahahhahaha.

But yeah, I've been dreaming of an overseas trip for years now, and SRGCE was the closest I could get. Now, I just want a trip with no school-ish constraints, and plain fun with the one/s I love. :D

Bangkok or Phuket maybe. Somewhere with budget airlines haha.

I had a funny dream last night. Scuba diving, a weird plant, a daughter called Ashley. (:

Don't trip off the glitz

The first day of CNY/ Vday is overrrr!

I can imagine the millions of western-influenced Chinese couples around the world groaning about how they're forced to make Vday their opportunity cost cos they're Chinese after all.

How paradoxical.

In our everyday lives, Western practices take precedence over our traditional ones. So much so that we grumble when we have to just be Chinese and do what Chinese do, or rather, used to do.
And I admit I'm one of those people. I'm typing in English, my first language is English, and I hate CNY songs.
Americanization is scary.

Anyway, Vday was celebrated on Thursday with Friendship day and it was really apt. Cos in SAC every year's Vday was like a major Friendship Day with everyone giving everyone else sweets and chocs and other little stuff. JC's a bit more different, like it's really more reserved for couples or crushes and whatnot. I got 3 balloons and a rose and chocolates! And other little things from friends. So sweeeeeet. (:

(Sidenote: I just realised today's total defence day cos of the damn loud siren. -.-)

CNY celebrations on Friday was the usual stuff, but I'm thankful for the early dismissal, which was not that early for me cos i stayed back a while to do my due GP hw. Spoiler.
Wasn't that exciting cos not everyone was sporting enough to wear their 'home clothes' to school. Last year's J1s (a.k.a. my batch) were more sporting during Thanksgiving. Oh well, maybe they're not 'warmed up' to show their outside-school persona yet.

So CNY visiting has been rather boring, probably a common opinion from Generation Y. Angpaos are beside the point. Cos everyone loves money, and I haven't gotten more than $200 this year. Cos i can't get any from my maternal side (FYI, you can't give angpaos if there has been a recent death in the family), so yeah.

Meh. My nose is always runny, my throat is always sore. I should go back to Vietnam cos when I came back from there, I had no runny nose at all for two weeks straight. How cool.

PEGASUS WON!

Finally after idk how many years of being 'losers' the amaaazing 2010 freshies and of course OGLs made it happen! It's like Cetus third, Aquila second, and we were all damn confused cos we were expecting those two to win, but noooo, we did!

Yayyeyyyyyy! I'm so proud now hahhaa.

I'll miss P3 loadsss! S1 also. :D

To OG P3, (whether you guys will read this or not)

You guys really remind me of myself last year during my own orientation. That enthusiasm and joy of making new friends and just letting yourself enjoy orientation before JC hell starts. Thanks for giving me this awesome experience as your OGL and I hope you guys feel the same! As in from the freshman point of view, haha. Keep in contact always and I'm sure you guys will organise your own OG outings (like me last time) and love P3 always!

As for S1,
I was really apprehensive about this class cos I'm like a total arts freak and you guys are 4H2 science kids. And true enough, it was pretty hard to click. It took me much more effort than P3 and by the second day with the class I was feeling quite sucky as an OGL and we definitely have different views on school and life. Maybe some or most of you feel like it's the same thing. Like life = school life. But to me, life is just life. School is but a small part of it, so live it in every way, with friends, family, anyone around you. And I looked around, and couldn't get why some of you guys won't just let yourself enjoy this orientation fully. Only a handful were. The council planned like crazy for this, the OGLs are sacrificing our lessons and time and voices, and all you guys had to do was to enjoy yourselves.

But by the last day, you all proved me wrong. To the core. I saw you guys really playing and laughing and talking to each other and just having fun. It just took you guys a while more to bond, I guess. It was just really heartwarming to see all of you in this different light. Hope you guys bond even more, eat together, mug together, play together and score as 1S01! And thanks for the lessons I've learnt from leading you guys!

So yeah, orientation is officially over, so J1s, welcome to hell. HAHAHHA. Okay lah, I played all the way and only accepted hell a week before my promos. I'm a retard lah. Don't follow my footsteps.

Anyway, just went to Meredith's church yesterday, and only like Jeremy from the OG came. Sky also, but he's a fellow OGL. Sad. LOL. Had steamboat and ice cream, then the usual youth service stuff like songs and sharings, chatted a while then homeee. And I realised Randi's from that church too hhaha small world.

I GOT A LOT A LOT TO CATCH UP! I abhor homework. OGLs should be given extension till next week. I insist.
